20 Jul An Audiobook Coming to Life
Stephanie, the audiobook narrator you all helped me to choose for the Dragonmaster Trilogy, just sent me this audio.
#ugh I could not be more thrilled.
We’ve been going back and forth about pronunciation and voices. These Very Important Voices have my wholehearted approval.
Hit play to hear her voices for four of the dragons: Luteis, Talis, Pemba, and Yushi.
I can close my eyes and see each of the dragons come to life. #srslytho

Posted at 09:18h, 24 AugustVery good! I just paid $$$ for an audio of one of my favorite series that, when I read, has me laughing out loud. When I listened to the first two chapters, I didn’t laugh once because the “actress”-reader didn’t change voices for the many different rich-personalities of characters. I’m so disappointed, and feel like this will hurt the future, revenue, and popularity of one of my favorite series/author. So again, this is awesome, and just what I expect in an audiobook.

Posted at 11:26h, 24 AugustThe inflection and enunciation of the rescuer is very excellent in hearing the difference between the two speaker, but my ear keeps hearing the same voice. Maybe the rescuer ‘s voice could have been a bit deeper? But I’m a musician, although a bit deaf 😉 after years of loud music. Thank you for the sample.

Posted at 11:31h, 24 AugustVery well done, Ms. Katie…your choice indeed does the dragons voices honor. I am a strong fan of audiobooks, and it THRILLS me to hear one well portrayed! High kudos to both you and Ms. Stephanie!

Posted at 11:51h, 24 AugustExcellent narrator. At first I had difficulty hearing the difference between Luteis and Talis so I played it again.. This time although the pitch was similar the differences were picked up in the cadence. Wonderful. This will be one to hear over and over again.

Posted at 12:57h, 24 AugustPeaked my interest to READ the series. Thought a couple of voices were a bit much, and two of them sounded the same.

Posted at 13:07h, 24 AugustI’m generally not a fan of audio books, but I thought I would try this. To me, the Yushi tone sounds too similar to Talis. I listened twice and was able to differentiate the voices better. The reader has a very pleasant voice. I would also like to hear the differences between Sana and Isadore’s voices.
Thank you for the sample.
